Vino and Polo

I wasn’t sure I could pull it off, but luck was on my side.  I was picking up one of our kids from summer camp in Long Beach, and decided to drive up the coast to Santa Barbara.  I convinced a friend there to find a sitter for a day and accompany me to Happy Canyon Vineyard to attend the Santa Ynez Polo Classic (see previous post on Piocho Ranch and Happy Canyon Vineyard).  It was all so seamless, I was waiting for the hitch that fortunately never came.  We picked out some flowy sundresses, donned our chapeaux, and braved the heat of the valley (91…nothing for a desert rat like me) in order to sip on some Happy Canyon Vineyard Rosé and watch the fast-paced polo match.

Does this gentleman look familiar? He is Nacho Figueras, the face of Ralph Lauren’s World of Polo fragrances. I had to get a closer look…

He is just as gracious as he is handsome.

As we head into this 4th of July weekend, have a safe and happy holiday!  xoM
