I’ll be in #Chandler this weekend for a swim meet and would love some recommendations on places to eat and feed hungry swimmers! 🏊🏼‍♂️ The meet is taking place at the Chandler high school and will stay a couple nights at the Crowne Plaza. I know one place nearby is @jinyaramenbar that has delicious Ramen, and any other ideas you may have would be appreciated!

Started by Yotaka Promtun-Martin and husband Alex Martin, they moved from hosting pop-up dinners in their home to preparing gorgeous meals—many of which have been passed down for generations in Yotaka’s family—in this charming historic building on Portland Street. Cocktails are killer, served by Thunder @ththunder and the food is nothing short of spectacular. Try the green mango salad with hand torn shrimp, the charcoal beef smashed with a hammer, green papaya with grilled chicken thigh, and don’t miss out on dessert: crème brûlées and their take on mango sticky rice.

The Arizona Taco Festival will be back November 12-13 at a new location: Bell Bank Park in Mesa! 🌮 I attended a pop up taco event at @mercbaraz and sampled some outstanding tacos by Aaron May, Antonia Lofaso, and Todd English and washed it down with some tasty margaritas made with locally owned @tequilacorrido . It's been a long time since I have done a "did you

It's been a long time since I have done a "did you know" post, so here it goes...a few things you may not know about me:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. As the name of my handle suggests, I am from Texas, San Antonio specifically. I chose this amalgamation of Texas and Arizona because you can't really understand me unless you know the Texas side of me, like why I consider it heresy to put beans in chili, or sweet and sour in a margarita...that kind of thing.
2. My dad was an Army general, graduating in the West Point class of 1939, and serving in WW2 under General Patton. He liberated much of Europe and is a total hero in my eyes.
3. My mother claims she was 7th generation Texan and wore a necklace "I love Texas". She was one of the great beauties of her day, had impeccable taste, and my biggest inspiration.
4. My maternal grandmother was a member of the Osage Indian tribe, is why I am a member of the tribe, and the reason I post notices about the Osage in my stories.
5. I am the youngest (and best) of 5 siblings - four girls and a boy. (I threw this in here to see if any of them will read this lol.)
6. I have always loved learning languages since I was a child, and can read, write and converse in Spanish and French.
7. My love of the French language and food inspired me to enroll in culinary school, and I graduated with honors the week before I gave birth to our first daughter.
8. My husband and I met in Mexico--no, not at Señor Frogs--but at language school and share a love of Mexico and the food and culture.
9. We have three amazing children, each so talented, smart, and funny, and I am gratefully each and every day for these blessings.
